Afro-jazz musician, Jeys Marabini plans to record a reggae album following the success of his reggae single, Jah Deliver Us. He said the single was the breakthrough in the world he has been waiting for all his career. The song, her first reggae track, was released last week on digital platforms where it gained popularity. It was accompanied by visuals.
Jeys said that after its release he realized that this could be the tonic he needed to break into the global music market. âGod’s time is the best. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time – to break into Africa and the world. It’s something special for me and Zimbabwe.
Reggae music is loved by a lot of people, âsaid Jeys. He said he was overwhelmed by the rave reviews he was receiving from fans around the world.
âIt’s overwhelming. In all my career, I have never known such a reception because people who are far away love the song. There is a message I got from someone in Uganda who said the song was great and they liked it.
âI also got a video call from a Thuthukani Cele who played keyboards for the late Lucky Dube saying it was the best song in Africa so far. On the radio stations, the reception, that this either locally and outside the country, has been great because they play the song because people ask for it, “said Jeys. He said he was now working on a full reggae album.
âMy goal now is to make a complete album. So I’m working on new songs to make sure people get the album ASAP. Anything can happen because someone can invite me to play, so I should always be ready, âsaid Jeys.
